Michael Hicks is a freelance photojournalist based out of Brooklyn, NY. He provides his services for both editorial news assignments and advertisement projects with a strong work ethic that caters to each individual client. He holds a B.S. in design arts, having studied Photography and Anthropology at Drexel University. Dedication, social concern, and the enjoyment of producing art define the key elements that have molded his unique style. The first six years of his career were spent in training by some of the top people in the photo industry. Their knowledge and integrity have made a lasting impression on his personality and work. Michael believes that good relations and open dialog with clients are the key aspects to a successful project.

"Portraying the truth and being a part of history are what matters," says Hicks. His documentary work focuses on issues foreign and domestic. He feels that documenting ever changing social issues and human emotion is a means of provoking thought in the individual. Pondering the chaotic order of life and the limitless emotional responses of the human brain has led to a relentless desire to understand nature and human co-existence through photography.
